Zoo...

Thank you everyone! We had a great turn-out for the district meeting and a lot of fun with the gadgets!

I will work on planning a field trip to the Apple store. We can be "wowed" by their gadgets, genuises and their excellent customer service.

Our acquisitions dept. recently purchased some great books on Web 2.0 topics. They are not overwhelming and easy to understand. They would be great to get your staff and board started with Web 2.0.

Bogs, Wikis, MySpace, and More by Terry Burrows, published by Chicago Review Press, ISBN-13:978-1-55652-756-2.

The Rough Guide to the iPhone by Peter Buckley & Duncan Clark, www.roughguides.com, ISBN-13: 978-84353-924-7.

The Rough Guide to iPods, iTunes & Music Online by Peter Buckley & Duncan Clark, www.roughguides.com, ISBN-13: 978-1-85828-060-8.

The iPod & iTunes Handbook by Contel Bradford, Atlantic Publishing Group, Inc., www.atlantic-pub.com, ISBN-13: 978-1-60138-122-4.

The book about the digital natives is:
Born Digital: Understanding the First Generation of Digital Natives, by John Palfrey and Urs Gasser, Basic Books, ISBN-13: 978-0-465-00515-4.

If you are familiar with the Whole Library Handbook there is a Whole Digital Library Handbook. I do have a copy in the professional collection. It is edited by Diane Kresh and is from ALA. www.alastore.ala.org.
